Monkey Meal Planning
The purpose of this project was to create a class cookbook full of tasty and delicious meals for primates at the Primate Rescue Center (PRC) in Lexington, Kentucky. The PRC is a nonprofit sanctuary that provides lifetime care for monkeys, apes, and chimpanzees. Because the PRC relies on the generosity of individuals and businesses to fulfill their mission, all help is welcomed.
The animals present at the sanctuary are fed three meals a day, along with some snacks. In order to "keep it fresh" in the world of these fellow animals, our 10th grade class created a myriad of new and exciting recipes for them. The recipes had to be made up of healthy, natural ingredients that are donated to the organization. Also, each meal had to stay within the daily nutritional requirements for our selected bipedal brethren. After many calculations and some trying hours, all of us were able to invent a new, mouthwateringly delectable, meal. Below you can find my recipe (Please keep in mind that this is intended for primate consumption, not human).
